Child safety seat positioning
WARNINGS
- Consult an authorised dealer for the latest information on child seats recommended by Ford.
- EXTREME DANGER! Never install a rear-facing child safety seat on a seat protected by an active frontal airbag. This could result in serious injury or death to the child.
- When using a child seat with a support leg, the support leg must rest firmly on the floor.
- When using a child seat with a seat belt, make sure the seat belt has no slack and is not twisted.
- The child seat must be pressed firmly against the vehicle seat. It must not contact the head restraint. If necessary, remove the head restraint. See Head restraints
- You must refit the head restraint after removing the child safety seat. See Head restraints

Note: If you use a child seat on the front seat, the following longitudinal seat positioning guidelines must be followed: The child seat must not touch the dashboard. The passenger seat must be moved as far back as possible and the seat belt pulled toward the front of the vehicle (from the B-pillar anchor to the child seat). If it is difficult to tighten the seat belt retractor without slack, set the seatback to fully upright and raise the seat height.
