Operating Principles
Fresh Air
Keep the air intakes in front of the windshield free of obstructions (for example snow or leaves) to allow the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system to work properly.
Recirculated Air
WARNING
Prolonged use of recirculation mode may cause the windows to fog up. If the windows fog up, follow the windshield defrost settings.
Air inside the passenger compartment is recirculated.
Outside air does not enter your vehicle.
Heating
Heater efficiency depends on the coolant temperature.
General Information on Cabin Temperature and Humidity Control
Close all windows completely.
Cabin Heating
Direct the airflow toward your feet. In cold or humid weather, direct some of the air toward the windshield and door windows.
Cabin Cooling
Direct the airflow toward your face.
Air conditioning
The system directs air through the evaporator for cooling.
The evaporator removes moisture from the air to prevent the windows from fogging up. The system directs the resulting condensation outside the vehicle, which may form a small puddle of water under the vehicle. This is normal.
Note: Air conditioning only activates when the temperature is above 4°C. Note: Using air conditioning increases your vehicle's fuel consumption.
