To prevent dirt particles from abrading the interior, clean the vehicle interior regularly. Remove any soil immediately. Newspapers or dark clothing may transfer color to the vehicle interior.

Use a soft-bristle brush to remove dust from the knobs and crevices on the instrument panel. Using a mild soap solution, immediately remove hand lotions, sunscreen, and insect repellent from all interior surfaces, otherwise irreversible damage may occur.

Use cleaners specifically designed for the surfaces being cleaned to prevent irreversible damage. Apply all cleaners directly to the cleaning cloth. Do not spray cleaners onto any switches or controls. Remove cleaners promptly.

Before using any cleaning products, read and follow all safety instructions on the label. While cleaning the interior, open the doors and windows to ensure proper ventilation.

To avoid damage, do not clean the interior using the following cleaners or techniques:

  • Never use a razor blade or any other sharp object to remove soil from any interior surface.
  • Never use a stiff-bristle brush.
  • Never rub a surface aggressively or apply too much pressure.
  • Do not use laundry detergents or dishwashing soaps containing degreasers. For liquid cleaners, use approximately 20 drops per 3.8 L of water.

A concentrated soap solution will cause streaks and attract dirt.

Do not use solutions containing harsh or caustic soap.

  • Do not over-saturate upholstery during cleaning.
  • Do not use solvents or cleaners containing solvents.

Interior Glass

For cleaning, use a terry cloth dampened with water. Wipe away droplets with a clean, dry cloth. If necessary, use a commercial glass cleaner, then wipe clean with clean water.

Cleaning the windshield with water during the first three to six months of ownership will reduce the tendency to fog.

Speaker Grilles

Vacuum the speaker cover carefully so the speaker is not damaged. Clean spots with water and a mild soap.

Coated Moldings

Coated moldings should be cleaned.

  • For light soiling, wipe with a sponge or soft lint-free cloth dampened with water.
  • For heavy soiling, use warm soapy water.

Cloth/Carpet/Suede

To begin, vacuum the surface using a soft brush attachment. If a rotating vacuum brush is used, use it only on carpeted floors. Before cleaning, carefully remove as much soil as possible:

  • Carefully blot the liquid with a paper towel. Continue blotting until no more soil can be removed.
  • For solid soil, remove as much as possible before cleaning.

To clean:

  1. Dampen a clean, lint-free, colorfast cloth with water. A microfiber cloth is recommended to prevent lint from transferring to the fabric or carpet.
  2. Remove excess moisture by gently wringing the cloth until water no longer drips from the cleaning cloth.
  3. Start at the outer edge of the soil and gently work toward the center. Frequently fold the cloth to a clean area to prevent spreading soil into the fabric.
  4. Continue gently rubbing the soiled area until no more color transfer from the soil is visible on the cleaning cloth.
  5. If the soil is not completely removed, use a mild soap solution followed by plain water only.

If the soil is not completely removed, it may be necessary to use a commercial upholstery cleaner or spot remover. Test a small hidden area for colorfastness before using a commercial upholstery cleaner or spot remover. If a ring forms, clean the entire fabric or carpet.

After cleaning, use a paper towel to blot excess moisture.

Cleaning Glossy Surfaces, Information and Radio Displays

Use a microfiber cloth for glossy vehicle surfaces or displays. First, use a soft-bristle brush to remove dirt that may scratch the surface. Then gently clean by wiping with a microfiber cloth. Never use window cleaners or solvents. Periodically hand wash the microfiber cloth separately using mild soap. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Rinse thoroughly and air dry before next use.

Instrument Panel, Leather, Vinyl, Other Plastic Surfaces, Matte Painted Surfaces, and Open-Pore Wood Surfaces

Use a soft microfiber cloth dampened with water to remove dust and loose dirt. For more thorough cleaning, use a soft microfiber cloth dampened with a mild soap solution.

Do not use glossy-finish cleaning products, especially on the instrument panel. Reflected glare may reduce visibility through the windshield under certain conditions.

Cargo Cover and Convenience Net

Wash in warm water with a mild detergent. Do not use chlorine bleach. Rinse in cold water, then dry completely.

Seat Belt Care

Keep the belts clean and dry.
