Diesel Particulate Filter DPF (Regeneration Required)

When this symbol appears on the multi-information display, either alone or together with the warning message "DPF REGENERATION REQUIRED" while the engine is running, it informs the driver that the particulate filter must be cleaned of accumulated particulate matter.

To regenerate the diesel particulate filter, if traffic conditions permit, maintain a speed above 60 km/h until the indicator turns off. This may take up to fifteen minutes.

This driving condition raises the temperature in the exhaust system so that accumulated particulate matter is burned off and removed.

If you ignore the regeneration warning and continue driving slowly, the DPF indicator (possibly with the message CHECK SYSTEM) will appear on the display.

In this case, contact an authorized Honda dealer immediately to inspect the DPF system.
