Operation of the Function
Operating Conditions
Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control is ready for operation when all of the following conditions are met:
- Smart Cruise Control is operating
- Driving on a highway (or expressway)
Information
For more details on how to use Smart Cruise Control, refer to "Smart Cruise Control (SCC)" in chapter 7.
Function Display and Control
When Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control is operating, it will be displayed on the cluster as follows:
• Standby function

If the operating conditions are met, the white
indicator will illuminate.

If temporary deceleration is required while in standby and Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control is operating, the green
symbol will illuminate on the cluster.
If the Highway Auto Speed Change function is operating, the green
symbol and the set speed will illuminate on the cluster, and a warning sound will be heard.
WARNING
The warning message "Drive Carefully" will appear under the following circumstances:
-- Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control cannot decelerate your vehicle to a safe speed.
Information
Automatic deceleration and the Highway Auto Speed Change function use the same
symbol.
Highway Curve Speed Reduction
- Depending on the curve ahead on the highway (or expressway), the vehicle will decelerate, and after passing the curve, the vehicle will accelerate to the speed set by Smart Cruise Control.
- The braking timing of the vehicle may differ depending on the vehicle speed and the degree of the curve on the road. The higher the driving speed, the earlier deceleration will start.
Highway Automatic Set Speed Adjustment
- The Highway Auto Speed Change function will operate when the speed set by Smart Cruise Control and the highway (or expressway) speed limit match.
- While driving on a highway, the Highway Auto Speed Change function operates when the highway (or expressway) speed limit changes. The Smart Cruise Control set speed automatically changes to the changed speed limit.
- If the Smart Cruise Control set speed is adjusted to a speed different from the speed limit, the Highway Auto Speed Change function will be in standby.
- If the Highway Auto Speed Change function changed to standby while driving on a road other than a highway (or expressway), the Highway Auto Speed Change function will operate again when you drive on a highway again without setting the set speed.
- If the Highway Auto Speed Change function changed to standby by depressing the brake pedal or by pressing the
steering wheel
switch, press the switch to restart the function. - The Highway Auto Speed Change function does not operate on interchange or junction roads.
Information
- The Highway Auto Speed Change function operates only based on the highway (or expressway) speed limit, and does not operate with the camera speed limit.
- When the Highway Auto Speed Change function is operating, the vehicle automatically accelerates or decelerates when the highway (or expressway) speed limit changes.
- The maximum set speed for the Highway Auto Speed Change function is 140 km/h.
- If the speed limit of a new road is not updated in the navigation, the Highway Auto Speed Change function may not operate properly.
- If the speed unit is set to a unit other than the speed unit used in your country, the Highway Auto Speed Change function may not operate properly.
