ISG (Idle Stop and Go) System

~1min read

The Idle Stop and Go (ISG) system automatically and temporarily turns off the engine when the vehicle has stopped and is idling, to help improve fuel economy and reduce exhaust emissions. (for example, at a red light, stop sign, or in traffic).

The engine restarts automatically once the initial conditions are met.

The ISG system is always active when the engine is running.

Information

When the engine is automatically restarted by the ISG system, some warning indicators (for example, ABS, ESC, ESC OFF, EPS, and the parking brake indicator) may illuminate for a few seconds due to low battery voltage. However, this does not indicate a malfunction in the ISG system.
