Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS)
WARNING
The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) or Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system will not prevent accidents resulting from improper or dangerous driving maneuvers. Although the vehicle has improved control during emergency braking, always maintain a safe distance between you and the objects ahead of you. Vehicle speed should always be reduced during extreme road conditions. Braking distance for vehicles equipped with ABS or ESC may be longer than for those without these systems on slippery road conditions.
Drive at reduced speed under the following conditions:
- Rough, gravel, or snow-covered roads.
- On roads with uneven surfaces or varying surface heights.
- Snow chains are installed on your vehicle.
ABS or ESC safety functions should not be tested while driving at high speed or through curves. This may endanger your safety or the safety of others.
ABS is an electronic braking system that helps prevent brake lock-up. ABS allows the driver to steer and brake at the same time.
