Crankcase Emission Control System

~1min read

The positive crankcase ventilation system is used to prevent air pollution caused by blow-by gases escaping from the crankcase. This system supplies fresh air to the crankcase through the air cleaner. Inside the crankcase, fresh air mixes with the blow-by gases, then passes through the PCV valve into the intake system.

PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) Valve

The crankcase ventilation system must be kept clean to ensure reliable engine operation. Periodic service is required to remove combustion by-products from the PCV valve.
