WARNING - Loose objects Loose objects in the driver's footwell can interfere with the operation of the pedals, possibly causing an accident. Do not place any objects under the front seats. WARNING - Seatback return When returning the seatback to the upright position, hold it and slowly move it into position, making sure there are no other occupants around the seat. If the seatback is returned without being held and controlled, it could spring forward and accidentally injure a person in its path. WARNING - Driver's responsibility for the front passenger Driving a vehicle with a reclined seatback can cause serious or fatal injuries in a collision. If a seat is reclined in a crash, the occupant's hips may slide under the lap belt, applying great force to the unprotected abdomen. This creates the risk of serious or fatal internal injuries. The driver must advise the passenger to keep the seatback upright while the vehicle is moving. WARNING - Driver's seat - Never attempt to adjust the seat while the vehicle is moving. Loss of control may occur, and the resulting accident could cause death, serious injury or property damage. - Do not allow anything to interfere with the normal position of the seatback. Placing objects against a seatback or otherwise interfering with its proper locking can cause serious or fatal injuries in a sudden stop or collision. - Always drive and ride with the seatback upright and the lap belt positioned low and snug across the hips. This is the best position for protection in a collision. - To avoid unnecessary and possibly serious injuries caused by the airbag, always sit as far from the steering wheel as possible while still maintaining full control of the vehicle. It is recommended to keep your chest at least 25 cm (10 in.) from the steering wheel.
