The vehicle is equipped with a supplemental airbag system for the driver and front passenger seats.
The front airbags are designed to supplement the three-point seat belts. For the airbags to provide protection, the seat belts must be fastened at all times while driving.
You may be seriously injured or killed in an accident if you do not wear your seat belt. Airbags are designed to supplement seat belts, but not replace them. In addition, airbags are not designed to deploy in every collision. In some accidents, seat belts are the only thing protecting you.
WARNING
SRS AIRBAG PRECAUTIONS
ALWAYS wear your seat belt. Child restraint systems - every trip, every time, every child! Even with airbags, you can be seriously injured or killed in a crash if you are improperly restrained or not wearing a seat belt when the airbag deploys.
NEVER place a child restraint or booster seat in the front passenger seat unless the airbag is turned off. An inflating airbag can strike an infant or child with force, causing serious or fatal injuries.
ABC - Always secure children under 13 years old in the rear seat. The rear seat is the safest place for children of any age. If a child aged 13 or older must sit in the front seat, he or she must be properly restrained and the seat must be moved as far back as possible.
All occupants should sit upright with the seatback in the upright position, sit on the seat cushion with the seat belt fastened, and keep their feet on the floor with legs comfortably extended, until the vehicle is parked and the engine is turned off. If an occupant is out of position during a crash, the rapidly deploying airbag may strike the occupant with force, resulting in serious or fatal injury.
You and your passengers should never sit or lean unnecessarily close to the airbags or lean against the door or center console. Move your seat as far back as possible from the front airbags while still maintaining control of the vehicle.
