Window Safety Force Function

When the driver door window auto-up switch is operated, the safety function is activated.
  1. Safety Function Condition: When a force of 100 N (using a 10 N/mm spring) is detected while the window is closing, the window reverses.
  2. Window reverse distance (except when holding the auto-up switch)
    • When a pinch is detected at 4–250 mm from the top of the door: the window reverses to 300 mm from the top of the door.
    • When a pinch is detected more than 250 mm from the top of the door: the window reverses to 50 mm from the pinch position.
  3. Window reverse distance (holding the auto-up switch)
    • When a pinch is detected while holding the auto-up switch: the window reverses to 25 mm from the pinch position.
    • Auto-up function is unavailable for 5 seconds under the above condition. → When the auto-up switch is held, the window operates as a manual function. (Safety function is not activated.)
    • When the auto-up switch is held for 5 seconds or more under the above condition: the window reverses to 25 mm from the pinch position.
  4. Safety function is unavailable. The safety function is unavailable within 4 mm of the top of the door.
  5. Battery Connection Initialization: When battery power has been disconnected for more than 5 minutes, the safety power window switch must be initialized.
    1. Window Operation Before Initialization
      • Manual up/down function is available.
      • Auto-up function is unavailable. (When the auto-up/down switch is held, the window operates as manual up/down.)
    2. Initialization Method: Close the window from the open position and hold the switch in the fully closed position for 0.2 seconds. (If the window closing is started from the fully closed position, initialization may fail.)
    3. If the safety power window is initialized in a jammed condition, the following conditions may occur.
      • Safety Function Not Available
  6. Fail-Safe Mode Initialization
    1. If the window is moved forcibly and the motor is faulty, the window switch may enter fail-safe mode for user safety.
    2. Power Window Operation in Fail-Safe Mode
      • Auto/Manual-Down function is available.
      • Auto/Manual-Up function is unavailable. (During auto/manual up, the window rises 20 mm and stops.)
