Repair Procedures

Removal

1. 1
   Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

   Remove the driver airbag module. (Refer to Restraint System - "Driver Airbag Module (DAB) and Clock Spring")

   Remove the steering wheel. (Refer to Steering System - "Steering Column and Shaft")
4. 4
   Remove the steering wheel rear cover (A) after loosening the screws.

   Disconnect the remote control switch connector (A).

   

   

6. 6
   Remove the remote control switches (A) after loosening the screws.

   

Installation

1. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Inspection

1. 1
   Disconnect the cruise control switch connector from the control switch.

   

2. 2
   Measure the resistance between the terminals of the control switch when each function switch is turned on (switch pressed).

   Function Switch	Terminal	Resistance [± 3%]
   CANCEL	2 - 6	390 Ω
   SET-	2 - 6	610 Ω
   RES+	2 - 6	910 Ω
   CRUISE	2 - 6	1.38 kΩ

   If not within specification, replace the switch.
