Description

The ECM (electrochromic inside rearview mirror) darkens the mirror reflecting light. The front sensor detects the ambient brightness, while the rear sensor detects light from the rear. The light intensity from the rear sensor is used by the mirror to adjust the darkening. It ranges from 7 to 85%. When reverse gear is engaged, the function stops.
  1. The forward-facing sensor determines whether the surrounding environment is dark enough for the mirror to perform its function.
  2. The rear sensor detects glare reflected from the vehicle behind.
  3. The ECM darkens to the level determined by the rear sensor. When glare is no longer detected, the mirror stops functioning. (1. LED indicator, 2. ON/OFF switch, 3. Rear sensor, 4. Front sensor)
