Repair Procedures

Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the driver airbag module. (Refer to Restraint System - "Driver Airbag Module (DAB) and Clock Spring")
  3. Remove the steering wheel. (Refer to Steering System - "Steering Column and Shaft")
  4. Remove the steering wheel rear cover (A) after loosening the screws.

  5. Disconnect the remote control switch connector (A).

  6. Remove the remote control switches (A) after loosening the screws.

Installation

  1. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Inspection

[Resistance Measurement]
  1. Disconnect the cruise control switch connector from the control switch.

  2. Measure the resistance between the terminals of the control switch when each function switch is turned on (switch pressed).
    Function Switch Terminal Resistance [± 3%]
    CANCEL 2 - 6 390 Ω
    SET- 2 - 6 220 Ω
    RES+ 2 - 6 300 Ω
    CRUISE 2 - 6 470 Ω
    CCS 2 - 6 1.5 kΩ
