Description

Security Alarm Status [Status B/A]
Alarm Status Description
DISARM
  1. This is the state when the "ARM" mode is disabled.
  2. No alarm sounds when any door, hood or trunk is opened.
  3. The security indicator continues to flash from ALL OFF, then turns off when ACC is turned on.
WAIT
  1. If the BCM receives lock signals from the remote control or passive lock (Smart Key specification), or the driver's door is locked with the key and the "ARMING WAIT" conditions are met, the BCM waits 30 seconds after the "All doors locked" signal is output before entering the "ARMING WAIT" mode.
  2. During the 30-second "ARMING WAIT" mode, no alarm sounds and the "ARM" mode is deactivated even in case of a break-in.
  3. Under certain conditions, it is not possible to enter the "ARM" mode directly without passing through the "ARMING WAIT" mode.
  4. The security indicator remains on for 30 seconds in the "ARMING WAIT" mode.

※ Note: Applies to vehicles equipped with the Smart Key system, for the passive door lock function.
Alarm Status Description
AUTO LOCK TIMER 1
  1. This function is similar to RELOCK (the system locks automatically after 30 seconds).
  2. If the UNLOCK button on the remote control is pressed under the "ARMING WAIT" conditions, or in the "ARM" mode, all doors are unlocked and a 30-second timer starts.
  3. After 30 seconds, the BCM automatically outputs a lock signal to all doors and enters the "ARMING WAIT" mode.
  4. After the AUTO LOCK TIMER 1 (30 seconds) expires, the BCM automatically enters the "ARM" mode via the "ARM HOLD" mode (30 seconds).
  5. If the driver presses the UNLOCK button by mistake, this security function allows the vehicle to enter the "ARM" mode after 60 seconds.
  6. The security indicator continues to flash during the AUTO LOCK TIMER 1 process.

※ Note: Applies to vehicles equipped with the Smart Key system, for the passive door lock function.
Alarm Status Description
Auto Lock Timer 2
  1. The purpose is the same as AUTO LOCK TIMER 1, but the operating conditions are different.
  2. This function operates when the UNLOCK button on the remote control is pressed while all doors are closed except the hood or trunk. After 30 seconds, the vehicle automatically enters the door lock mode.
  3. However, after 30 seconds it is not possible to enter the "ARMING WAIT" mode because the hood or rear door is open (the "PRE-ARM" mode is maintained).
  4. As soon as the hood or rear door is closed, the vehicle automatically switches to the "ARM" mode via the "ARMING WAIT" mode.
  5. During the AUTO LOCK TIMER 2, the security indicator continues to flash.

※ Note: Applies to vehicles equipped with the Smart Key system, for the passive door lock function.
Alarm Status Description
Pre-Arm 1-1. This is the state immediately before entering the "ARM" mode after the AUTO LOCK TIMER 2 expires and all doors are closed once.
1-2. If the driver closes the trunk or rear door, the emergency warning lights flash once, and the vehicle automatically switches to the "ARM" mode via the "ARMING WAIT" mode.
2-1. If the LOCK button is pressed on one of the doors, the trunk door, or the hood is open, the "PRE-ARM" mode is activated.
2-2. Since the all-doors-locked signal is output but the "ARMING WAIT" conditions are not met, the vehicle remains in standby and switches to the ARM mode via the ARM WAIT mode as soon as the open door is closed.
2-3. If an intrusion is detected in PRE-ARM mode, the vehicle enters the DISARM mode.
2-4. The security indicator continues to flash in PRE-ARM mode.

Alarm Status Description
RESET
  1. In the RESET mode, if intrusion into the vehicle is detected, the audible and visual alarm is activated again and the status changes to the ALARM mode.
  2. The security alarm changes to the RESET mode after the 27-second timer expires.
  3. The security indicator flashes.

Alarm Status Description
Auto Lock Timer 3
  1. The alarm status changes to AUTO LOCK TIMER 3 when the trunk is operated. Refer to TX instruction.
  2. The alarm status changes from AUTO LOCK TIMER 3 to ARM STANDBY after the 30-second timer expires with all doors closed and locked.
  3. The alarm status changes from AUTO LOCK TIMER 3 to "DISARM" when a door is opened.
  4. In AUTO LOCK TIMER 3, the timer is set to 30 s. If this timer expires, the status passes through the PRE-ARM state with the trunk door open.
  5. In this state, the security indicator flashes continuously.

Alarm Status Description
ARM HOLD
(Alarm hold: rear door)
※ No PTL option
  1. The ARM HOLD mode is similar to the existing trunk alarm hold mode.
  2. If the trunk door is opened using the remote control (including the smart key) in the ARM mode, the vehicle enters the ARM HOLD mode. Now the security alarm is deactivated only for opening the trunk door.
  3. The ARM HOLD mode maintains activation without interruption while the trunk door is closed.
  4. When the open rear door is closed, the 30-second timer starts. During the 30 seconds in ARM HOLD mode, the theft alarm horn does not turn off if the trunk door is open.
  5. The vehicle immediately enters the security mode 30 seconds after the trunk door is closed.
  6. In the ARM HOLD mode, the ARM state is maintained for the doors and trunk; if intrusion through a door or the hood is detected, the theft alarm horn sounds.
  7. The security indicator continues to flash during ARM HOLD mode.

Note 1: ARM HOLD is a mode that delays activation of the ARM mode for the rear door only. In ARM HOLD mode, the ARM mode applies to all doors and the hood. Note 2: When the ignition key is used to open the luggage compartment door, the ARM HOLD function operates in the same way, provided that the "Key Door Anti-Theft Alarm" function is activated. If disabled, ARM HOLD is disabled, and using the key to open the luggage compartment door is treated as theft and triggers the alarm.
Alarm Status Description
RESET
(ARM mode activated again)
  1. If the door, trunk and rear door are closed after the ALARM mode ends, this means the ARM mode is activated again.
  2. In this case, the drive state (gate lock/unlock) is ignored and ARM mode is maintained until a remote control signal is received (normal arming mode).
  3. In this mode, the security indicator continues to flash.
Re-close
  1. When the battery is removed in ALARM or RE-ARM mode, the RESET mode is activated.
  2. When the battery is reconnected after RESET, the theft alarm resumes operation (instead of remaining released, the 27-second ON / 10-second OFF cycle is repeated three times).

Alarm Status Description
Deactivation: 30 seconds KEY ON
(without smart key option)
  1. For a vehicle without the smart key option, if the waiting period lasts 30 seconds with the ignition switch in the ALARM mode, the vehicle changes to the DISARM mode.
  2. Even before 30 seconds have elapsed, if the engine starts (voltage at the generator "L" terminal is HV: sent from the instrument cluster module to CAN data), the theft alarm is deactivated immediately. (Without ignition lock: the immobilizer system applies as a basic function so that the ignition system operates normally when the immobilizer key is registered during the alarm) ※ For a vehicle with the smart key, the alarm is deactivated immediately after smart key authentication.
When the ARM mode is activated, the trunk door cannot be opened and unlocked by the central door lock.
  1. From the moment the vehicle enters the ARM STANDBY state after locking all doors with the smart key or remote control, the trunk door central unlock switch, internal or DDM and ADM (driver and passenger power window switches) are deactivated. (Prevention of flight) ※ This function applies equally in the STANDBY, ARM, ARM HOLD, ALARM and RESET modes.
