Windshield Defrosting and Defogging

Windshield Defroster

In very humid weather, do not use the ( ) or ( ) position while the cooling function is activated. The difference between the outside air temperature and the windshield temperature may fog the outside surface of the windshield and cause loss of visibility. In this case, set the mode selector to the ( ) position and the fan speed control button to the lowest speed.

• For maximum defrosting, set the temperature control to the warmest (fully right) position and the fan speed control to the highest speed.
• If you want warm air at floor level during defrosting or defogging, select the "floor-defrost" position.
• Before driving, remove all snow and ice from the windshield, rear window, outside mirrors and side windows.
• Remove all snow and ice from the hood and the air intake in the hood grille to improve heating and defrosting efficiency and reduce the possibility of fogging on the inside of the windshield.
