Description and Operation

Description

The shift shaft assembly is installed on the upper part of the manual transmission, along with the shift select cable and shift cable. The shift shaft assembly is operated by shifting gears with the shift lever.

Repair Procedures

DEPOSIT

  1. Set the lever to the N position.
  2. Remove the air duct and air cleaner assembly. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air Cleaner")
  3. Disconnect the battery and battery tray. (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery".)
  4. Disconnect the shift cable (A) and select cable (B) after removing the snap rings (C - 2 pcs).
  5. Remove the drive shaft (A) after loosening the bolts.

    Tightening torque: 24.5 - 29 N·m

REMEDY

  1. To install, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.
