Lane Following Assist Operation

~2min read

Lane Following Assist

If a preceding vehicle and/or both lane markings are detected, and your vehicle speed is below 180 km/h, the greenThe lane following assist indicator illuminates on the cluster and the Lane Following Assist system helps center the vehicle in the lane by assisting steering.

PLEDGE

When the steering wheel is hands-off, the green indicator flashes and changes to white.

If the driver removes their hands from the steering wheel for several seconds, the "Hands on Steering Wheel" warning message and warning sounds will be provided in stages.

First stage: Warning message

Second stage: Warning message (red steering wheel) and warning sound

If the driver still does not have their hands on the steering wheel after the hands-off warning, the "Lane Following Assist (LFA) Canceled" warning message appears and the lane following function is automatically canceled.

WARNING

  • The Lane Following Assist steering can be overridden if the steering wheel is held firmly or if the driver steers the vehicle beyond a certain angle.
  • The Lane Following Assist system does not operate continuously. It is the driver's responsibility to drive the vehicle safely and keep the vehicle in its lane.
  • The hands-off warning message may appear late depending on road conditions. Always keep your hands on the steering wheel while driving.
  • If the steering wheel is held very lightly, the hands-off warning message may appear because Lane Following Assist may not recognize that the driver is holding the steering wheel.
  • If you attach objects to the steering wheel, the hands-off warning may not function properly.

Information

  • When both lane markings are detected, the lane lines on the cluster will change from gray to white.
  • Images and colors on the cluster may differ depending on the cluster type or the theme selected in the cluster.
  • If lane markings are not detected, steering control by Lane Following Assist may be limited depending on whether the vehicle is in front of or behind other vehicles.
  • Even though steering is supported by Lane Following Assist, the driver can still control the steering wheel.
  • The steering wheel may feel heavier or lighter when the Lane Following Assist system is steering than when it is not.
