SRS Maintenance
The SRS requires virtually no maintenance, and there are no parts that can be safely serviced by the owner. If the SRS airbag warning light does not illuminate when the ignition switch is in the ON position, or remains illuminated, have your vehicle inspected immediately by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. Any work on the SRS, such as removal, installation, or repair, or any work on the steering wheel, front passenger panel, front seats, and rails must be performed by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. Improper handling of SRS components may result in serious personal injury.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious injury or death, observe the following precautions:
- Do not attempt to modify or disconnect SRS components or wiring, including adding any kind of emblems to the pads or modifying the body structure.
- Do not place objects over or near the airbag modules in the steering wheel, instrument panel, and front passenger panel above the glove box.
- Clean the air bag pad covers with a soft cloth dampened with plain water. Solvents or cleaners may adversely affect the air bag covers and proper deployment of the system.
- Always have deployed airbags replaced by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
- If SRS components must be disposed of, or if the vehicle is to be scrapped, certain safety precautions must be observed. Consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer for the necessary information. Failure to observe these precautions may increase the risk of personal injury.
