Towing Service

[A]: Dolly

If emergency towing is required, we recommend having it done by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer or a commercial towing service.

Correct lifting and towing procedures are necessary to prevent damage to the vehicle. Use of wheel dollies or a flatbed trailer is recommended.

For front-wheel-drive vehicles, towing with a tow truck is permitted as long as the front wheels (which are the drive wheels) are off the ground. The rear wheels may remain on the ground without using dollies.

For all-wheel-drive vehicles, all wheels must be off the ground. Therefore, a flatbed trailer is recommended.

If any of the loaded wheels or suspension components are damaged, or if the vehicle is towed with the rear wheels on the ground, use a towing dolly under the rear wheels.

When towing with a commercial tow truck, dollies and wheel lifts are not used; the front of the vehicle must always be lifted, not the rear.

For all-wheel-drive vehicles, it must be towed with a wheel lift and dollies, or a flatbed trailer, with all wheels off the ground.

NOTICE

Do not lift the vehicle by the towing hook or body and chassis parts. Otherwise, the vehicle may be damaged.

PLEDGE

• Do not tow the vehicle with the front wheels on the ground, as this may cause damage to the vehicle.

• Do not tow the vehicle using slings. Use a wheel lift or flatbed equipment.

When towing the vehicle in an emergency without wheel dollies:

1. Release the EPB before turning off the engine.

2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

3. Shift the transmission to N (Neutral) while depressing the brake pedal.

4. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position.

PLEDGE

Failure to shift the transmission to the N (Neutral) position may cause internal damage to the transmission.
