Repair Procedures

REPLACEMENT

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Recover refrigerant using a refrigerant recovery/recycling unit (recovery/recycling station).
  3. When the engine has cooled, drain the coolant from the radiator. (Refer to Engine Cooling System - "Coolant")
  4. Remove the upper hood cover. (Refer to Body group - "Upper Cowl Cover")
  5. After loosening the retaining nut, remove the control cover (B).

    Tightening torque: 7.8~11.8 N·m

  6. Remove the bolts and the expansion valve (A) from the evaporator core.

    Tightening torque: 7.8~11.8 N·m

  7. Disconnect the inlet (A) and outlet (B) heater hoses from the heating system.
  8. Loosen the hood crossmember mounting bolts.
  9. Remove the floor console assembly. (Refer to Body group - "Floor Console")
  10. Remove the lower airbag panel. (Refer to Body - "Lower Instrument Panel")
