Seat Belt Restraint System

~1min read

WARNING

Improperly worn seat belts can increase the risk of serious injury in an accident. When adjusting the seat belt, observe the following precautions:

  • Position the lap portion of the seat belt as low as possible across the hips, not across the waist, so that it fits snugly. This allows the strong pelvic bones to absorb the impact force, reducing the likelihood of internal injury.
  • Place one hand under the shoulder belt and the other hand above the belt, as shown in the illustration.
  • Always set the shoulder belt anchor to the locked position at the appropriate height.
  • Never route the shoulder belt across your neck or face.
