SRS Care
The SRS requires virtually no maintenance, and there are no parts that can be safely serviced by the owner. If the SRS airbag warning light does not illuminate when the engine Start/Stop button is in the ON position, or remains illuminated, the system should be inspected immediately by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Any work on the SRS, such as removal, installation, repair, or any work on the steering wheel, front passenger panel, front seats, and roof rails, should be performed by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. Improper handling of the SRS may result in serious injury.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious injury or death, observe the following precautions:
- Do not attempt to modify or disconnect SRS components or wiring, including adding any type of emblems to the covers or modifications to the vehicle body structure.
- Do not place objects over or near the airbag modules in the steering wheel, instrument panel, or front passenger panel above the glove box.
- Clean the airbag covers with a soft cloth dampened with plain water. Solvents or cleaning agents may damage the airbag covers and deployment system.
- Always replace inflatable airbags at an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
- If SRS components must be disposed of or if the vehicle is to be scrapped, certain precautions must be observed. Consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer for the necessary information. Failure to observe these precautions may increase the risk of injury.
