Introduction

Gasoline containing ethyl and methyl alcohol

~1min read

Gasohol, a mixture of gasoline and ethyl alcohol (also known as grain alcohol), and gasoline containing methyl alcohol (also known as wood alcohol) may be sold alongside or in place of leaded or unleaded gasoline.

Gasohol containing more than 10% ethyl alcohol, and gasoline or gasohol containing any amount of methyl alcohol, must not be used. Use of such fuel may cause poor driveability and damage to the fuel system.

Stop using any type of gasohol if it degrades the vehicle's driveability.

Damage to the vehicle or degraded driveability may not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty if caused by the use of the following fuels:

1. Gasohol with an ethanol content exceeding 10 %.
2. Gasoline (gasohol) containing methanol.
3. Leaded gasoline or leaded gasohol.

Stop using any gasohol if it results in degraded driveability of the vehicle.
