Control Shaft Assembly Repair Procedures

Removal

1. 1
   Remove the following items:

   A.	Air cleaner assembly and air duct. (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System in Group EM.)

   B.	Battery and battery tray. (Refer to Charging System in Group EE.)

   Before removing the control shaft assembly, move the passenger compartment shift lever to the N position.

   Separate the cable (A) from the control shaft after removing the pin (B) and washer (C).

   Remove the control shaft assembly after loosening the bolts.

   

Installation

1. 1
   Installation is the reverse of removal.

   When installing, set the control shaft lever to the neutral position. When installing, apply sealant as shown in the illustration. Specified sealant: MS 721-40 or MS721-38

   After installation, make sure this part operates within specification for each T/M side range corresponding to each shift lever position.
