Description

The ECM (Electrochromic Inside Rearview Mirror) is designed to dim the reflected light from vehicles behind at night so that the driver is not dazzled by the light. The front sensor detects the ambient brightness, while the rear view sensor detects the intensity of the reflected light, so that it adjusts the reflectance of the mirror within a range of 7~85%. However, when the transmission is in reverse, it stops operating.
  1. The forward-facing sensor determines whether the ambient brightness is low enough for the mirror to perform its function.
  2. The rear-facing sensor detects glare from light reflected from a vehicle moving behind.
  3. The ECM dims to the level determined by the rear view sensor. When glare is no longer detected, the mirror stops operating. 1. Status indicator LED 2. ON/OFF switch 3. Rear view sensor 4. Front sensor

Description

The rear view camera system, located on the tailgate, provides a video image (which appears on the rearview mirror) of the area behind the vehicle. It assists the driver when backing up or parking the vehicle in reverse. To use the rear view camera system, place the transmission in R (Reverse); the image will be displayed in the left part of the rearview mirror. The area displayed on the screen may vary depending on the vehicle orientation and/or road conditions.

Use the side mirrors and the rearview mirror to get the best coverage on both sides and the rear of the vehicle. When shifting from reverse to any other gear, the image remains on for several seconds before it turns off, to assist when parking or towing a trailer. The camera lens of the rear view camera system is located on the tailgate, next to the tailgate handle. Keep the lens clean so that the video image remains clear and undistorted. Clean the lens with a soft, lint-free cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner.
If the rear view camera system image is unclear or appears distorted, it may be covered with water droplets, snow, dirt, or any other substance. In this case, clean the camera lens before using the rear view camera system.
If the rear of the vehicle is damaged or the rear view camera system is damaged, contact an authorized dealer to inspect your rear view system for proper coverage and operation.

Use at Night and in Dark Places

At night or in dark places, the rear view camera system relies on the backup lamp lighting to create the image. Therefore, both backup lamps must be working to obtain a clear image in the dark. If either lamp is not working, stop using the rear view camera system, at least in the dark, until the lamp(s) are replaced and functioning.

Auto-Dimming Function

To protect your eyes during night driving, your mirror automatically dims when it detects glare from moving vehicles behind you. The auto-dimming function can be controlled using the dimming function button. ON/OFF button:
  1. Pressing and holding the function control button for more than 3 but less than 6 seconds turns off the auto-dimming function, which is indicated by the green status LED turning off.
  2. Pressing and holding the function control button again for more than 3 but less than 6 seconds turns on the auto-dimming function, which is indicated by the green status LED turning on.
The mirror is in the "ON" position by default each time the vehicle is started.
