Emergency Liftgate Release
In this manual: Convenient Features of Your Vehicle
~1min read

Your vehicle is equipped with an emergency liftgate release lever located inside the lower part of the liftgate. If someone is accidentally locked in the cargo area, the liftgate can be opened by moving the lever in the direction of the arrow and opening the liftgate.
WARNING
- You and your passengers should know the location of the liftgate emergency release lever in this vehicle and how to open the liftgate in case you are accidentally locked in the cargo area.
- NEVER allow anyone to occupy the cargo area of the vehicle at any time. If the liftgate is partially or fully latched and a person is unable to get out, serious injury or death may result from lack of ventilation, exhaust gases, rapid temperature increase, or exposure to cold weather conditions. The cargo area is also a very dangerous place to ride in a vehicle during a collision, because it is not a protected passenger space and is part of the vehicle's crush zone.
- Your vehicle should be locked and the key kept out of the reach of children. Parents should inform their children of the dangers of playing in the cargo area.
- Use the release lever only in emergency situations.
