Oil Change Reset - if equipped
Your vehicle may be equipped with an engine oil change indicator system. The "Oil Change Required" message will appear in the instrument cluster display for five seconds after a single chime sounds, indicating the next scheduled oil change interval. The engine oil change indicator system is based on vehicle usage, which means the engine oil change interval may vary depending on your personal driving style.
If not reset, this message will appear every time you turn the ignition to the ON/RUN position. To temporarily turn off the message, press and release the OK button. To reset the oil change indicator system (after performing scheduled maintenance), refer to the following procedure.
Oil Life Reset
- Without depressing the brake pedal, set the ignition to the ON/RUN position (do not start the engine).
- Go to the "Oil Life" submenu in the "Vehicle Information" menu on the instrument cluster display.
- Press and hold the OK button until the gauge resets to 100%.
Alternative Oil Change Reset Procedure
- Without depressing the brake pedal, set the ignition to the ON/RUN position (do not start the engine).
- Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly three times within ten seconds.
- Without depressing the brake pedal, set the ignition to the OFF/LOCK position.
NOTE:
If the indicator message appears when you start the vehicle, the oil change indicator system has not been reset. Repeat this procedure if necessary.
