If you are slowly passing another vehicle with a relative speed of less than 15 mph (24 km/h) and the vehicle remains in the blind spot for approximately 1.5 seconds, the warning lamp will illuminate. If the speed difference between the two vehicles exceeds 24 km/h, the warning lamp will not illuminate.

The BSM system is designed not to issue alerts for stationary objects such as guardrails, poles, walls, foliage, embankments, etc. However, at times the system may alert for such objects. This is normal operation and your vehicle does not require service.

The BSM system will not alert you to objects traveling in the opposite direction of your vehicle in adjacent lanes.

Oncoming Traffic
