Key Fob Battery Replacement

Recommended battery for replacement: CR2450.

NOTE:

• Customers are recommended to use a battery obtained from Mopar®. Aftermarket coin cell battery sizes may not match the original OEM battery dimensions.
• Perchlorate material - special handling may apply. See www.dtsc.ca.gov/hazardouswaste/perchlorate for more information.
• Do not touch the battery terminals located on the back of the housing or on the circuit board.
• When the key fob battery is discharged, a warning message will appear in the instrument cluster, and the key fob LED will no longer illuminate when a button is pressed.

   Remove the key fob rear cover by inserting a flat-blade screwdriver into the slot at the bottom of the key fob. Pry carefully while the cover is released, taking care not to damage the seal. Move counterclockwise to release the remaining latches until the battery cover can be removed.

   Remove the discharged battery by inserting a small flat-blade screwdriver into the battery removal slot and sliding the battery forward and up, taking care not to damage the electronic circuit board underneath.

   Install the new battery into the key fob, making sure the positive (+) side faces up. Slide the battery until it is securely seated under the tabs.

   Reassemble the rear cover, making sure it is properly aligned before snapping it back into place.

• The key fob contains a coin cell battery. Do not swallow the battery; there is a risk of chemical burns. If a coin cell battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in as little as two hours and may result in death.
• If you believe the battery may have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek medical attention immediately.
• Keep new and used batteries out of reach of children. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children.
