Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover.
  3. Disconnect the generator connector (A) and the cable (B) from the "B" terminal.
  4. To loosen the tension, turn the drive belt tensioner counterclockwise, then remove the drive belt (A).
  5. Remove the alternator (A).

Installation

  1. Install in the reverse order of removal. Alternator Mounting Bolt: 26.5 ~ 33 N·m
  2. After installation, adjust the alternator belt tension.
    When installing the drive belt, follow this sequence: crankshaft pulley → A/C compressor pulley → idler pulley → alternator pulley → water pump pulley → drive belt auto tensioner roller. Turn the automatic tensioner arm counterclockwise by turning the boss (B) of the arm with a wrench. After installing the drive belt (A) onto the automatic tensioner pulley, slowly release the tensioner arm.
