Inspection

In the IGN1 ON state, when the multifunction switch module detects that automatic lighting is turned on, the tail lamp relay output and the low beam headlamp relay output are controlled according to the input signal from the automatic light sensor. Automatic light control does not operate if the pin for the sunlight sensor power supply (5 V regulated power from IGN1 to the sunlight sensor) is shorted to ground. When IGN1 is on, the BCM monitors the range of this power supply and sets a fault as soon as the supply voltage goes out of the allowable range. This fault is then set, and while it is present, the headlamps are kept on regardless of the sunlight level detected by the sensor. This is done to prevent the headlamps from turning off at night in the event of a fault.
