Body Control Module (BCM) Description and Operation

IPM Overview

The Body Control Module (IPM - Intelligent Integrated Platform Module) provides vehicle occupants with visual and audible information and controls various vehicle functions. To provide and receive information, the module is connected to the vehicle CAN bus communication network.

The IPM provides the following functions:

• Door Lock Control (sends lock/unlock command via CAN)
• Security Alarm Check
• Room Lamp Fade-Out and MODE Lamp Control
• Keyhole Illumination Control
• Trunk Opening Control
• Warning (Buzzer and Indicator) Control
• Wiper Arm
• Lamp Control (Tail Lamp, Low Beam, High Beam, Front Fog Lamp, Room Lamp, Rear Fog Lamp Control, HLLD)
• Turn Signal/Hazard Control
• Defroster
• External Buzzer and Security Alarm Control
• Panic
• MTS
• Window Control
• Key Interlock Solenoid
• Input Signal Sent via CAN for Local Functions
