Curtain Airbag

Curtain airbags are located along both sides of the roof rails above the front and rear doors.
They are designed to help protect passengers in certain side collisions and to help prevent them from being ejected from the vehicle in a rollover, especially when seat belts are also used.
- The side curtain airbags are designed to deploy in certain side impact collisions, depending on crash severity, angle, speed and point of impact. However, side airbags may also deploy in a frontal impact if the deployment threshold is met.
- Side curtain airbags may deploy on the impact side or on both sides of the vehicle.
- In addition, the side curtain airbags on both sides of the vehicle will deploy in certain rollover situations.
- Side curtain airbags are not designed to deploy in all impact or rollover situations.
Do not allow passengers to lean their head or body against the door, place their hands on the door, extend their arms out of the window, or place objects between the doors and passengers when seated in seats with side impact airbags and/or side curtain airbags.
✽ NOTICE
Never attempt to open or service any component of the side and curtain air bag system. This must only be done by an authorized Kia dealer.
WARNING - Do Not Attach Objects
- Do not place any objects on the airbag. Also do not attach any objects around the airbag, such as the door, side window glass, front and rear pillars, or roof side rail.
- Do not hang heavy or sharp objects on the coat hook.
