Anchor Pretensioner (APT) Description and Operation

~1min read

Description

The front seat belt anchor pretensioner operates simultaneously with the seat belt pretensioner when it enters the deployment state after a collision. It is located next to the anchor on the front seat and is equipment that compensates for the existing short stroke. The front seat belt anchor pretensioner is supported by two cables and is auxiliary equipment to prevent the driver and passenger from being thrown forward when the seat belt is pulled toward the mounting side after a collision.
Never measure the resistance of the anchor pretensioner directly. The current from the measuring device may cause the airbag to deploy unexpectedly.
