Inspection

  1. Ignition switch ON.
  2. Turn on the headlamp switch.
  3. Check for proper operation. The headlamp angle should change smoothly when the headlamp leveling switch is turned.
  4. If the system does not operate properly, inspect the connector and terminals to make sure they are making good contact. If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary and recheck the system. If the terminals appear normal, go to step 5.
  5. Replace with a known-good headlamp assembly and check for proper operation.

Removal

  1. Disconnect the connector (A) from the headlamp leveling unit.
  2. Loosen the mounting bolts (3EA) of the automatic headlamp leveling unit.

    Tightening torque: 6.86 ± 2 N·m

  3. Remove the headlamp leveling unit.

Installation

  1. Install the headlamp leveling device.
  2. Connect the headlamp leveling device connector.
