Description

Ignition timing is controlled by the electronic spark advance control system. Standard reference spark advance data for each engine operating condition is preprogrammed in the ECM (Engine Control Module) memory. Engine operating conditions (engine speed, load, warm-up state, etc.) are detected by various sensors. Based on these sensor signals and the spark advance data, primary current interrupt signals are sent to the ECM. The ignition coil is activated and the timing is controlled.
