Description

The windshield de-icer system prevents the windshield wipers from freezing in the winter. It consists of a de-icer element in the lower part of the windshield, a switch and a relay. The Body Control Module receives an input signal from the de-icer switch and then controls the relay. The operating condition is the same as the rear window defogger system. Since the "L" terminal of the generator is on, if the de-icer switch is turned on, the de-icer output is on for 20 minutes.
