Power Window Safety Function: When the automatic up switch of all door power windows (front, rear) is operated, the safety function is activated.
  1. Safety Function Status: When a force of 100 N is detected while the window is rising, the window reverses.
  2. Window reverse distance (except when holding the auto-up switch)
    A. When a pinch is detected at 4–250 mm from the top of the door: the window reverses to 300 mm from the top of the door.
    B. When a jam is detected at a distance more than 250 mm from the top of the door: the window reverses up to 50 mm from the pinch position. The window reverses 50 mm or to the lower position in case of a reverse distance of 50 mm.
    C. When a jam is detected at a distance more than 300 mm from the top of the door: the window stops at the reverse point.
  3. Window reverse distance (holding the auto-up switch)
    A. When a jam is detected while holding the automatic up switch: the window reverses up to 25 mm from the pinch position.
    B. The automatic up function is unavailable for 5 seconds from the above condition. → When the automatic up switch is held, the window operates as a manual function. (Safety function is not activated.)
    C. When a jam is detected again while holding the automatic up switch: the window reverses up to 25 mm from the pinch position.
    D. When the auto-up switch is held for 5 seconds or more under the above condition: the window reverses to 25 mm from the pinch position.
  4. Safety function is unavailable. The safety function is unavailable within 4 mm of the top of the door.
Initialization (Learning): After a power reset or when a fault is detected, the motor must be initialized in the fully closed position. How to initialize:
  • Move the window up to the fully closed position. When the window reaches the fully closed position, hold the power window switch in the automatic up position for T≥2 seconds. If the unit is recognized, the system status becomes initialized.
Storing Initialization (Learning) Information: The ECU writes the initialization information to a designated location in flash memory (as long as the Flash ROM page is valid).
  • Storage Conditions: Enter sleep mode after a valid switch input. Enter low voltage (7.5 V) after a valid switch input.
  • Recall Conditions: Engine=ON or Power ON reset
Deinitialization (Memory Reset): Under the following conditions the ECU goes into the deinitialized state. After deinitialization, the automatic up and safety functions do not operate. To make these functions active again, the ECU must go through the initialization process.
  • Deinitialization Conditions:
  1. Continuous 15 reversals
  2. Power interruption while the engine is running
  3. Driver's door open and window glass at the bottom (hard stop position) with ignition ON, ignition OFF → within 2 seconds, ignition ON → press the manual down switch 3 times within 5 seconds → Deinitialization
Door and Glass Status IGN Status Input Time IGN Status Switch Input Status Switch Input Time Initialization Status
Re-input Time IGN Status Switch Input
Driver's door open, window glass at bottom with ignition on (Hard stop) Ignition off T≤2 sec Ignition ON T≤5 sec Ignition ON Press and release the manual switch down 3 times Deinitialization

Window Position Control: Hall sensors are used to determine the window position and motor rotation direction. The ECU recognizes the fully closed window position and sets this relative window position value as "0". When the window goes down, the relative position value increases based on information from the Hall sensor. Conversely, when the window goes up, it decreases. Thermal Protection: Thermal protection is implemented by a software module to prevent motor damage under overload conditions. Motor temperature is estimated by integrating the square of the motor current as an estimate of the heating power integral. When the estimated motor temperature exceeds the programmable upper limit in EEPROM, the motor is deactivated for a fixed delay time (default = 30 sec.). Thermal shutdown does not interrupt window operation for safety reasons. Operating Time Limiter: The maximum operating time of the window lift motor is limited to 15 sec (EEPROM programmable).
