  1. Remove the engine cover.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Disconnect the front oxygen sensor connector (A) and the rear oxygen sensor connector (B).
  4. Remove the front muffler. (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Muffler")
  5. Remove the heated oxygen sensor (A). (Refer to Engine Control/Fuel System - "Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S)").
  6. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield (B). Tightening torque: Oxygen sensor: 39.2 ~ 49 N·m Heat shield bolts: 7.8 ~ 11.8 N·m
  7. Remove the exhaust manifold support (A). Tightening torque: M8: 18.6 ~ 28 N·m M10: 51.9 ~ 58 N·m
  8. Remove the exhaust manifold (A) and gasket (B).

    Tightening torque 49.0 ~ 54 N·m

    When installing the exhaust manifold, tighten the nuts to the preliminary torque first, then tighten the nuts to the specified torque in the sequence shown.
  9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
