BSD is a system that uses two radar magnetic wave sensors attached to the rear bumper to measure the distance to following vehicles and provides detection and (visual and audible) warning of any vehicle entering the blind spot.
Blind Spot Detection (BSD): Detects other high-speed vehicles in the blind spot and then displays the BSD warning lamp on the driver's side mirror. The warning lamp and alarm activate when the driver turns on the turn signal to change lanes where the other vehicle is located.
Lane Change Assist (LCA) system: detects other vehicles in the blind spot area, then displays the BSD warning lamp on the outside mirror for the driver. The warning lamp and alarm activate when the driver turns on the turn signal lamp without detecting a vehicle suddenly approaching from that direction.
System Operating Mode
When the engine is started with the switch in the OFF position, the OFF mode is activated.
When the ON switch is pressed in OFF mode, the passive mode is activated.
If the engine is started with the switch on, passive mode is activated. ※ When the ignition is on, the switch is in its initial state: the last position is retained.
A.
If IGN OFF → ON with the switch on, the switch is on.
B.
If IGN OFF → ON with the switch in the OFF position, the switch is in the OFF position.
If you start the engine with the BSD switch on, or if you turn on the BSD while it is off, the outside rearview mirror warning lamp blinks for 2-3 seconds. This indicates to the driver that the BSD system is ready. (Provided that the system is not in fail mode, there is no blinking.)
If the activation conditions (speed and radius of curvature) are met while driving, the active mode is turned on (warning is issued).
If the activation conditions (speed and radius of curvature) are not met while driving, the passive mode is turned on (warning is canceled).
If the BSD and LCA operation fails in any mode, Fail mode is activated.
If the BSD and LCA operate normally in Fail mode, the OFF mode is turned on.
If the OFF button is pressed while the BSD and LCA functions (active/passive) are operating, the OFF mode is turned on.
