Description

The Electrochromic Inside Rear View Mirror (ECM) is used to dim reflected light in the rear view mirror. The front sensor detects the ambient light level, while the rear sensor detects the light intensity from the rear. The light intensity from the rear sensor is used by the mirror to adjust the dimming level within a range of 7% to 85%. When reverse gear is engaged, the mirror stops operating.
  1. The forward-facing sensor determines whether the ambient brightness is low enough for the mirror to perform its function.
  2. The rear-facing sensor detects glare from light reflected from a vehicle moving behind.
  3. The ECM dims to the level determined by the rear view sensor. When glare is no longer detected, the mirror stops operating. (1. LED Indicator, 2. ON/OFF Switch, 3. Rear View Sensor, 4. Front View Sensor)

Auto-Dimming Function

To protect your eyes during night driving, your mirror automatically dims when it detects glare from moving vehicles behind you. The auto-dimming function can be controlled using the dimming function button. ON/OFF button:
  1. Pressing and holding the function control button for more than 3 but less than 6 seconds turns off the auto-dimming function, which is indicated by the green status LED turning off.
  2. Pressing and holding the function control button again for more than 3 but less than 6 seconds turns on the auto-dimming function, which is indicated by the green status LED turning on.
The mirror is in the "ON" position by default each time the vehicle is started.
