Towing Services

If emergency towing is necessary, we recommend that it be performed by an authorized Kia dealer or a commercial towing service. Proper lifting and towing procedures are necessary to prevent damage to the vehicle. The use of wheel dollies (1) or platforms is recommended.
On all-wheel drive vehicles, your vehicle must be towed using a wheel lift and dolly, or a flatbed with all wheels off the ground.
CAUTION
Never tow an all-wheel drive vehicle with its wheels on the ground. This may cause serious damage to the transmission or the all-wheel drive system.
If any of the loaded wheels or suspension components are damaged, or if the vehicle is towed with the front wheels on the ground, use a towing dolly under the front wheels.
When towing with a commercial tow truck without wheel dollies, always lift the rear of the vehicle, not the front.
✽ NOTICE
If the EPB does not operate normally, have your vehicle transported to an authorized Kia dealer on a flatbed truck and have the system inspected.

- Make sure that metal parts on the tie-down straps do not contact painted surfaces or the wheels.
- Do not pass straps through body panels or wheels.
CAUTION
Attaching straps to the chassis, suspension, or other body parts may cause damage.
WARNING - Side Airbag and Curtain Airbag
If your vehicle is equipped with side airbags and curtain airbags, set the Engine Start/Stop button to the ACC position when towing the vehicle. The side and curtain airbags may deploy when the ignition is on and the rollover sensor detects a rollover situation.

WARNING - Towing
- Do not tow the vehicle backward with the rear wheels on the ground, as this may cause damage to the vehicle.
- Do not tow the vehicle with sling equipment. Use a wheel lift or flatbed equipment.
When towing the vehicle in an emergency without wheel dollies:
1. Set the engine start/stop button to the ACC position.
2. Shift the gear shift lever to the N (Neutral) position.
3. Release the parking brake.
CAUTION - Tow Hook Position
If the shift lever is not placed in the N (Neutral) position, internal damage to the transmission may result.
