Inspection
In the IGN1 ON state, when the multifunction switch module detects automatic light ON, the tail lamp relay output and the low beam relay output are controlled according to the input of the auto light sensor. Automatic light control does not operate if the sunlight sensor power supply (regulated 5 V, from ignition 1 power to the sunlight sensor) is shorted to ground. If IGN1 is on, the BCM monitors the range of this power supply and outputs a fault message as soon as the supply voltage goes outside the permissible limits. Then this malfunction occurs, and while it is present, the headlamps must be turned on regardless of the sunlight level provided by the sensor. This is done to prevent the headlamps from switching off in the event of a failure at night.Removal
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the automatic light sensor (A) from the upper side of the airbag using a flat-tip (-) screwdriver.

- Disconnect the automatic light connector (B).
Installation
- Connect the automatic light connector.
- Install the auto light sensor.
