Head Restraint

~1min read

The rear seat is equipped with head restraints in all passenger seating positions for safety and comfort.

In addition to providing comfort for passengers, the headrest also helps protect the head and neck in the event of a collision.

WARNING

  • For maximum effectiveness in the event of an accident, adjust the head restraint so that the center of the head restraint is at the same height as the center of gravity of the occupant's head. In general, the center of gravity of most people's heads is at the height of the top of their eyes. Also adjust the head restraint as close to the head as possible. For this reason, using a cushion that holds the body away from the seatback is not recommended.
  • Do not drive the vehicle with the head restraints removed. Serious passenger injury may occur in the event of an accident. Head restraints can provide protection against severe neck injuries when properly adjusted.

Up and Down Height Adjustment

To raise the head restraint, pull it up to the desired position (1). To lower the head restraint, press and hold the release button (2) on the head restraint support and lower the head restraint to the desired position (3).

Removal and Installation

To remove the head restraint, raise it to its highest position, then press the release button (1) and pull the head restraint upward (2).

To reinstall the head restraint, insert the posts (3) into the holes while pressing the release button (1). Then adjust it to the proper height.

WARNING

Make sure the head restraint is locked in position after proper adjustment to protect occupants.
