Manual Transmission Oil Repair Procedures

Inspection

1. 1
   Remove the under cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")

   Remove the fill plug (A).

   Check the oil condition and make sure the oil level is correct (A).

   

4. 4
   Install the filler plug (A).

   Tightening torque: 58.9 ~ 78 N·m

   Install the under cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")

Replacement

1. 1
   Remove the under cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")
2. 2
   Remove the drain plug (A), allow the oil to drain, then reinstall the drain plug.

   Tightening torque: 58.9 ~ 78 N·m

   

3. 3
   Remove the fill plug (A).

   Fill the manual transaxle with manual transaxle oil through the oil filler hole. Recommended: - SAE 70W, API GL-4 - Kia approved transaxle oils: SK HK MTF 70W, SHELL SPIRAX S6 GHME 70W, GS CALTEX GS MTF HD 70W Quantity: 1.6 ~ 1.7 L (0.42 ~ 0.45 US gal, 1.69 ~ 1.80 US qt, 1.41 ~ 1.5 L Imp qt)
5. 5
   Install the filler plug (A).

   Tightening torque: 58.9 ~ 78 N·m

   

6. 6
   Install the under cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")
