Break-in of the vehicle
In this manual: Break-in of the vehicle
~1min read
No special break-in period is required. By following a few simple precautions during the first 1,000 km (600 miles), you can improve the performance, fuel economy and service life of your vehicle.
- Do not lug the engine.
- Drive with the engine speed between 2,000 and 4,000 rpm (revolutions per minute).
- Do not maintain the same speed for long periods, whether high or low. Vary the engine speed to properly break in the engine.
- Avoid sudden stops, except in emergencies, to allow the brakes to seat properly.
- Do not let the engine idle for more than 3 minutes.
- Do not tow any vehicle during the first 2,000 km (1,200 miles).
