Repair Procedures

Removal

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the fuel tank assembly. (Refer to Fuel System - "Fuel Tank")
  3. Disconnect the vapor hose (A) and the vent hose (B).
  4. Remove the mounting bolt (C) and remove the canister (D).

    Canister Assembly Mounting Bolt: 0.3–0.6 N·m

Installation

  1. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Inspection

  1. Visually check for the following items.
    • Cracks or leaks in the canister
    • Poor connection, deformation, or damage of the vapor hose/tube.
    A: Canister ↔ Fuel Tank B: Canister ↔ Intake Manifold C: Canister ↔ Atmosphere
