Service Adjustment Procedure
Steering Wheel Play Inspection
- Turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels point straight ahead.
- Measure the distance the steering wheel can be turned without moving the front wheels.
Specification: 0–30 mm (1.1811 in) or less

- If the play exceeds the standard value, inspect the steering column, shaft, and linkage.
Stationary Steering Effort Inspection
- Place the vehicle on a level surface and set the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position.
- Start the engine and turn the steering wheel several times from lock to lock to warm up the power steering fluid.
- Attach a spring scale to the steering wheel. With the engine idling, pull the scale and read it as soon as the tires start to rotate.
Standard value: 3.0 kgf max.

- If the measured value exceeds the specified value, inspect the steering gear.
