Rear Seat Adjustment
Head Restraint

The rear seat is equipped with head restraints for passenger safety and comfort.
The head restraint not only provides comfort for occupants, but also helps protect the head and neck in the event of a collision.
WARNING
- For maximum effectiveness in the event of an accident, the head restraint should be adjusted so that the center of the head restraint is at the same height as the center of gravity of the occupant's head. Generally, the center of gravity of most people's head is similar to the height of the top of their eyes. Also adjust the head restraint as close to the head as possible. For this reason, the use of a cushion that holds the body away from the seatback is not recommended.
- Do not drive the vehicle with the head restraints removed. Serious injury to occupants may occur in the event of an accident. Head restraints can provide protection against serious neck injuries when properly adjusted.
Height Adjustment Up and Down (if equipped)

To raise the head restraint, pull it up to the desired position (1). To lower the head restraint, press and hold the release button (2) on the head restraint support and push the head restraint down to the desired position (3).
Removal and Installation (if equipped)

To remove the headrest, raise it to the highest position, then press the release button (1) and pull up (2).
To install the headrest, insert the headrest posts (3) into the holes while pressing the release button (1). Then adjust it to the desired height.
WARNING
Make sure the headrest is locked in the desired position after adjustment to properly protect the occupants.
Folding the Rear Seat
The rear seatbacks can be folded down to make it easier to carry long items or to increase the cargo capacity of the vehicle.
WARNING
The purpose of the folding rear seatback is to allow you to carry items longer than could otherwise be accommodated.
Never allow passengers to sit on top of a folded seatback while the vehicle is moving, as this is not a proper seating position and seat belts are not available for use. This could result in serious injury or death in the event of an accident or sudden stop. Items carried with the seatback folded must not extend higher than the top of the front seats. This may allow the cargo to slide forward and cause injury or damage during sudden stops.
The rear seatbacks can be folded forward to provide additional cargo space and to allow access to the cargo area.
- To raise the seatback, lift and push it firmly until it locks into place with a click.
- When returning the seatback to the upright position, reposition the rear seat belts so that they can be used by rear seat passengers.
WARNING
Do not fold the rear seat if the driver's position is not properly adjusted for the driver's body size. A sudden stop or collision may result in injury.
CAUTION
- When folding or raising the rear seat, be sure to slide the front seat fully forward. If there is not enough space to fold the rear seat, never force it down. This will cause damage to the headrest or related seat parts.
- Before using the seat belt, be sure to remove it from the holes located on both sides of the seatback. If you pull the seat belt while it is in the holes, the seat belt or holes may be damaged.
- Use the holes only when there are no passengers in the rear seat or when the rear seat needs to be folded.
To fold the rear seatback:

1. When folding the seatback, insert the rear seat belt buckle into the pocket between the rear seatback and cushion, then make sure both seat belts do not interfere with the stowed luggage and cargo. Then insert the seat belt into the two holes located on both sides.
2. Return the front seatback to the upright position and, if necessary, slide the front seat forward.
3. Lower the rear headrests to the lowest position.

4. Pull the seatback release lever and fold the rear seatback forward and down firmly.
To unfold the rear seat
1. To use the rear seat, lift and pull the seatback rearward. Pull the seatback until it locks into place. Make sure the seatback is locked in position. When returning the seatback to the upright position, always check that it is locked in position by pressing on the upper part of the seatback. If you cannot see the red line on the side of the folding lever, this means the seatback is fully locked.
2. Return the rear seat belt to the correct position.
3. When the seatback is fully installed, check the seatback folding lever again.
WARNING
Upright seating position
When returning the seatback to the upright position, hold the seatback and return it slowly. If the seatback is returned without being held, it may spring forward, which may result in injury caused by impact from the seatback.
WARNING
After folding the rear seat, do not fold the rear seat unless the driver's position is properly adjusted for the driver's body size. This may greatly increase the risk of injury in a sudden stop or collision.
WARNING
When returning the rear seatback to the upright position after it has been folded:
Be careful not to damage the seat belt webbing or buckle. Do not allow the seat belt or buckle to be caught or pinched behind the seat. Make sure the seatback is fully locked in the upright position by pressing on the upper part of the seatback. Otherwise, in an accident or sudden stop, the seat may fold and allow cargo to enter the passenger compartment, which could result in serious injury or death.
CAUTION
Damage to rear seat belt latches
When folding the rear seatback, insert the buckle between the rear seatback and cushion. This may prevent the buckle from being damaged by the rear seatback.
CAUTION
Rear Seat Belts
When returning the rear seatback to the upright position, be sure to return the rear shoulder belts to their correct position.
WARNING
Cargo
Cargo must always be secured to prevent injury to vehicle occupants in the event of a sudden stop or collision. Do not place items on the rear seats, as they may not be properly secured and may strike front seat occupants in a collision.
WARNING
Loading Cargo
Make sure the engine is off, the automatic transmission is in P (Park) or the manual transmission is in 1st gear, and the parking brake is firmly applied when loading or unloading cargo. Failure to follow these steps may allow the vehicle to move if the shift lever is unintentionally moved to another position.
